Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about residential proxies, our platform, pricing, and technical setup.

General

What are residential proxies?

Residential proxies are IP addresses assigned by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to real home devices. When you route traffic through a residential proxy, your requests appear to come from a genuine household internet connection rather than a datacenter. This makes residential proxies significantly harder for websites to detect and block compared to datacenter proxies.

How are residential proxies different from datacenter proxies?

Datacenter proxies come from cloud hosting providers and are associated with known datacenter IP ranges. Websites can easily identify and block them. Residential proxies use IPs from real ISPs, making them appear as legitimate consumer traffic. This results in much higher success rates for web scraping, data collection, and ad verification tasks.

Is using residential proxies legal?

Yes, using proxies is legal. They are commonly used for legitimate business purposes such as market research, ad verification, SEO monitoring, and web scraping of publicly available data. However, you are responsible for complying with the terms of service of any website you access and all applicable laws in your jurisdiction.

Pricing & Billing

How does pricing work?

Proxyverse uses a pay-as-you-go model. You purchase bandwidth in packages (e.g. 1 GB, 5 GB, 10 GB) and it's deducted as you use it. There are no monthly subscriptions, recurring fees, or automatic renewals. Larger packages come with volume discounts of up to 75% off the base rate.

Does my bandwidth expire?

No. Your purchased bandwidth never expires. Use it whenever you need it — whether that's today, next month, or next year. There are no monthly resets or use-it-or-lose-it policies.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cryptocurrency payments through our payment provider. This offers privacy, low fees, and fast processing for customers worldwide.

Can I get a refund?

We offer refunds on a case-by-case basis for unused bandwidth. Please contact support if you need assistance. Since bandwidth is consumed in real-time, already-used data cannot be refunded.

Technical

What protocols do you support?

We support both HTTP/HTTPS and SOCKS5 protocols. HTTP proxies work on port 8080, and SOCKS5 proxies work on port 1080. Both protocols support authentication, country targeting, and all the same features.

What is the difference between rotating and sticky sessions?

Rotating proxies assign a new IP address with every request or connection, which is ideal for scraping at scale. Sticky sessions maintain the same IP for a configurable duration (up to 30 minutes), which is necessary for multi-step workflows like logging into accounts, filling forms, or completing checkout flows.

How do I target a specific country?

Append '-country-XX' to your username, where XX is the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code. For example, 'user-country-us' for United States, 'user-country-de' for Germany, or 'user-country-jp' for Japan. When no country is specified, a random global IP is used.

Is there a limit on concurrent connections?

No. You can run unlimited concurrent connections without any throttling or additional fees. Our infrastructure is designed to handle high-volume parallel requests.

Do you provide an API?

Yes. Our REST API lets you manage your account, check balances, generate proxy credentials, and monitor usage programmatically. API access is included with every account at no extra cost.

What tools and frameworks are compatible?

Proxyverse works with any tool that supports HTTP or SOCKS5 proxies. This includes curl, Python requests, Scrapy, Beautiful Soup, Puppeteer, Playwright, Selenium, axios, and virtually any programming language or automation framework.

Account & Security

How do I get started?

Create a free account, purchase a bandwidth package, and you'll get proxy credentials immediately. Connect through our endpoints and start routing traffic. The entire process takes less than 5 minutes.

Can I create sub-users?

Yes. You can create up to 5 sub-users, each with their own proxy credentials and bandwidth quotas. This is useful for teams, agencies managing multiple clients, and resellers who need isolated access.

How is my data protected?

Your proxy credentials are transmitted over encrypted connections. We do not log the content of your proxy traffic. Your account is protected with hashed passwords and JWT-based authentication.
